I'm going to make up a game where you have to take a shot every time this comic becomes relevant.

After a gorgeous day I get to join in on the fun! Here’s my aurora pic from Loveland Colorado!

What is this cold and snow you speak of? #cowx

Too busy licking a toy to look back. But I did get an ear perk!

1980s Christian rock band Petra. I played this so much, and with the scratches, I totally memorized where it would skip or get stuck. So much so that it was jarring when I later bought the CD and it didn't have those skips!

Check out that ass tho.

Ignoring the "they" for a moment. You got an "entire" generation on your side? Only 14% of the vote came from the youngest generation, and most of them voted for Harris.

The best thing about the one I got last January was the moon photobomb.

This is my fully vaccinated child. Look at the way she struggles to reach the giant straw as she climbs all over the giant cup. So lethargic, lifeless, and serious. Maybe if she weren't vaccinated, she'd know she can't drink from a statue.

Hey, I'm Becky, and I'm a climate scientist in northern CO. I was the assistant state climatologist with the Colorado Climate Center for 7 years. Now I work at Lynker where I get to help state agencies and cities assess how climate change impacts their work.

Here's me and my baby.

Fondly recalling this sticker someone put on a trash can along my running route a few years ago. Now every time someone says "Putin" I think of poo.

My forecast: not a cloud in the sky. High of 106. Gusty winds that feel like a hot blow dryer. Chance of precipitation is 0%. Chance of moose is 0%. Chance of swaying palm tree is 100%.

In a list of the worst album covers 😂

By the way, what does it say when a PhD studying drought gets married during one of the state's most epic flooding events in history? I like that I get a reminder of my special day every time someone talks about September 2013 floods at a meeting or conference.

Further into the canyon, you can see the evidence of large-scale erosion that goes quite high up the mountainsides. Some of this is the result of the high waters from the Big Thompson Flood in 1976. Some from the September 2013 floods that also caused extensive damage.

Just past the mouth of the canyon, looking upstream. The large pipe carries water to several reservoirs. The night of the flood, the raging river picked up this nearly million pound pipe and carried it a quarter mile downstream. Here you can see the river below the highway on the right side.

On the evening of July 31, 49 years ago, a deadly flooding disaster began in the Big Thompson Canyon in northern CO. Highway 34 cuts through the canyon between Loveland and Estes Park. On that night, an extreme precipitation event resulted in a large wall of water crashing through and killing 144.

One year ago today I snapped this pic of the Alexander Mountain Fire west of Loveland, CO.
