"We know land clearing, climate change and invasive species continue to push threatened species to the brink of extinction," QCC nature campaigner Natalie Frost said.

114 additional species were listed as threatened and three declared extinct between 2019 and 2024, according to a new report. In response, the Queensland Conservation Council (QCC) is calling for $200 million a year to protect and recover threatened species.

The good, the bad and the ugly of Australia's 2035 climate target.

TL;DR: Australia’s new 2035 climate target paves a path forward for meaningful climate action. HOWEVER, we must aim to meet & push past the top end of the target range (70%) for our best chance at a safer future for all Australians.

Climate change poses the single greatest threat to the future of our natural environment and the humans who dedicate their lives to care for it.

We hope to honour Jane’s legacy by advocating for greater action on climate change, to help protect and preserve our planet and all its inhabitants ❤️

Today we remember Jane Goodall as a champion for the natural world and all living creatures.

From her research and study of primates to her conservation efforts and activism, Jane has left a legacy of care and concern for our beautiful and diverse world.

Publications like those under News Corp put Australians in real danger when they conflate facts and evidence with 'science fiction'.

We must demand better from our news media.

Ever wondered what happens to wind turbines & solar panels when they reach their end-of-life?

Unlike fossil fuels, which cannot be re-used & must be extracted on an ongoing basis, minerals & metals from decommissioned renewable infrastructure can be reused & recycled continuously♻️

What happens to renewables when they reach retirement age? | Climate Council
As we continue to roll out more renewables, many of us are wondering: what will happen to all these wind, solar and battery projects once they reach retirement age?

Our leaders must step up and stop approving extensions like they have for the North West Shelf.

Let's not forget, however, that EVs alone won’t enable us to meet our climate goals. Increasing public transport, freight electrification, and access to more active transport options are also needed to cut transport-related climate pollution, so let's keep our foot on the accelerator!

Makes you think, doesn’t it 🤔

What if streets were designed for people, not cars? 🌏 Let’s make transport safe, clean & connected - with public transport, rideshare, bikes & walking options the priority. #WorldCarFreeDay
