"We are the originators when it comes to recycling and green building, but now we must be the innovators."

Thank you Ethiel, Carl, and James Lindberg for your perseverance in carrying forward this critical work, the most important effort our generation will endeavor to achieve.

"If we - all of us here today and our colleagues and volunteers and members back home - and anyone who calls themself a preservationist - if we don’t lead the charge to retrofit existing buildings and actively demonstrate that this is a powerful path forward - who will?"

For the 2nd year in a row, the closing plenary featured Climate Action - we love to see it!
Ethiel Garlington of The 1772 Foundation, Inc. introduced CHN member Carl Elefante with strong words of action for the audience.
"Some of you in this room are making climate work a priority"

"Preservation as climate action - is our moral imperative. ... The good news is that it’s happening."

Last week, CHN attended the National Trust for Historic Preservation annual conference, #PastForward.
Ethiel stands behind a clear podium wearing glasses and a gray jacket speaking to a ballroom full of people sitting at round tables with white linens. Carl sits on a stage in a chair wearing a light gray blazer in front of a projection screen displaying his name as well as Jim Lindberg's name. Jim is sitting to his left in a gray suit holding a microphone in his hand. Carl stands in front of a projection screen, gesturing to the audience with his hands. On the screen are the words Comfort = Design + Operability, images of people, historic windows, and historic art, and Robyn Pender.
