This isn't a choice between jobs & the climate. It's a plan to get BOTH.

By building data centers the right way, we get a win-win-win: a stronger economy, a cleaner grid, and thousands of union jobs.

It's time to build.

The "right way" is simple:
✅ Pair data centers w/ NEW clean energy.
✅ Build the transmission to support it.
✅ REQUIRE Project Labor Agreements to guarantee good, family-wage union careers.
This is non-negotiable. #WAUnionJobs #PLAs

The question isn't IF we build data centers in WA, but HOW. There's a right way and a wrong way.

The wrong way? A "Wild West" approach that strains our grid & fails our climate goals.

The right way? A smart, planned build-out that creates union jobs.

2/2 The failure isn't our ambition—it's our execution. The projects & our skilled workforce are ready to go.

It’s time for state leaders to cut the red tape, fix the permitting process, and put Washington to work. It's time to build.

1/2 A new report highlights a critical failure: Washington leads on climate policy but ranks DEAD LAST in renewable energy growth. 📉

The reason? Permitting gridlock is stalling 250+ clean energy projects, costing our state $149B in economic activity & 580,000 potential union jobs.

WA's clean energy goals are a fantasy without a modern grid.

The problem? A broken permitting system is blocking essential transmission upgrades.
The solution? Lawmakers must streamline permitting & create a state authority to build it.

A productive Committee Week in Olympia has set the stage for the upcoming legislative session. Great to see our top priorities front and center.
Our focus is clear:
Pass SB 5466 to fix our energy grid.
Secure a pro-worker path for data centers.
Get an EO signed to cut red tape.
It's time to build.

A "Climate Leader" State That Can't Build Clean Energy: The Inconvenient Truth.

Does Washington have an impending climate crisis? Winter is coming and time is ticking.

Oregon's Gov. Kotek just signed her SECOND executive order to fast-track clean energy & union jobs.
Washington is still waiting for its FIRST.
We are leaving federal dollars & family-wage jobs on the table every single day. The time for waiting is over. @GovFerguson, sign the executive order.

3/3: So what's our solution? Stop the infighting and BUILD.
➡️ Invest in our energy grid.
➡️ Champion innovative projects like clean fuels.
➡️ Create policies that support good union jobs.
A pro-worker, pro-growth future is possible, but we have to build it. #WAPol #WAUnionJobs #Infrastructure

2/3: Blocking data centers in WA is a lose-lose.

It sends thousands of good union jobs to other states.

It pushes the carbon emissions to places with weaker environmental laws and dirtier grids.

We can't export our jobs AND our climate responsibilities.

1/3: NEWS: We just filed a formal minority report, breaking with the state's Data Center Work Group.

Why? Their recommendations will kill thousands of good union jobs and are based on the false choice that we can't have both a strong economy and a clean environment. We disagree.

Stuck between ambition and action: Washington State can't have it both ways. What happens when you build a system to prevent harm instead of a system build to create solutions?

Blocking data centers in WA is a lose-lose.
We export good union jobs.
We export our climate responsibilities to states with dirtier grids.
It's time to stop the infighting and focus on the real solution: building a modern, clean energy grid right here in Washington.

Let's be clear: Data centers are not the problem. They are a scapegoat.
The REAL problem is Washington's failure to build enough clean energy to meet our goals. As our E.D. Cassie Bordelon says, we're "solving for the wrong problem."

WA's biggest climate champions are now the biggest threat to some of our state’s only consistent source of union construction jobs: Data Centers.

As Heather Kurtenbach of the WA Building Trades says, this is a dangerous sign for our entire economy.

The choice for WA is clear: bureaucratic gridlock or a future with good union jobs & reliable clean energy.

Our climate goals won't wait.

Our workers can't wait. It's time for our state's leaders to act and build the infrastructure we need.

The problem: A transmission traffic jam is blocking hundreds of clean energy projects.

The solution: Smart state-level action.

We need to invest in our grid & pass bills like #SB5466 to clear the path for clean energy & union jobs.

It's time to build.

WA's energy gridlock isn't an abstract problem. It means:
📈 Higher utility bills for your family.

⚠️ Increased risk of blackouts.

👷♂️ Good-paying union jobs stalled.

Inaction is costing us all. We need to clear the path for clean energy projects, now. #WAUnionJobs #WAPol

Washington calls itself a climate leader, but the numbers tell a different story.
Clean energy projects submitted for grid connection in the last decade: 469

Projects approved: 1

This isn't a plan; it's a crisis. Our goals are meaningless without action. #CleanEnergyWA #Gridlock

OR and CA are already fast-tracking clean energy jobs and investments. Washington is stuck in permitting delays, risking thousands of union jobs and billions in federal funds.

We need leadership, now. @GovFerguson, sign an executive order. Let's build our future.
