That's not enough. About a million fled back then, and only half returned. I'm monitoring the comments. Many are aware of it all but avoid even thinking about it. It's unpleasant. They need some kind of push.

Of course. But people's psychological reactions are very nonlinear. For example, internet blockages apparently make people uncomfortable. There's a lot of anxiety. But so far, there's been no change in behavior. On the other hand, during the mobilization, Moscow residents fled their jobs.

I think it's a human psychological trait. Avoidance. Sociology agrees that young people in Russia are currently doing well financially. But older people, who were considered Putin's electorate, are already abandoned and disillusioned.

I'm more interested in the psychology of Russians right now. I see they're very frustrated. It's widespread. This didn't happen in 2023. But I don't see any adaptation yet. No assessment, no change in life strategies. Everyone's hoping things will be like before. I'm waiting for this to break down.

Perhaps 50 percent of Russians are as poor as in Africa. The remaining 40 percent are considered middle class. But in the coming years, they could move into the first category, leaving them at, say, 20 percent.

Most Russians are poor and have no savings, it's worth remembering. There are entire multi-unit buildings that owe tens of millions of rubles in utility bills. Some even have their electricity shut off, and they manually reconnect it.

See another example. 2023 September. Hard work is not... a rubber butt. He wanted to say something else, but he said this. It's called aphasia. Pauses in speech were already visible back then. Now it's apparently gotten worse.

The point is that the psychiatric diagnosis of depression is different from a bad mood. A bad mood is unlikely to cause cognitive problems.
December 31, 2025 at 5:44 PM
The most these Russians have is an adjustment disorder. The primary approach is psychotherapy. Antidepressants won't help them. They also won't help with a lack of money. These aren't mental disorders for which SSRIs are indicated.
December 31, 2025 at 5:13 PM
I watched videos of a Russian psychiatrist commenting on record sales of antidepressants in Russia. He said this needs to stop. The medications are being prescribed off-label. SSRIs can even worsen avoidance behavior.

Depression is an affective disorder. It's characterized by so-called depressive episodes that last for a period of time. A relative of mine also had dementia, which began when he was growing vegetables in his garden for some reason, two years before the onset of serious symptoms.Ofc we need more data

In 2021, it was 0; in 2023 and 2024, it was 10 and 11. In 2025, it was 131!! Putin used "э" this in 2021 as well, but YouTube didn't identify it as two letters of them due to the short pause
December 31, 2025 at 4:55 PM
Also. Research delay methodology:
Subtitles were taken from YouTube for Putin's direct line from 2021-2025. The word "ээ" was searched for. This usually means a person is thinking and unable to respond. Two letters indicate prolonged reflection.

Yes, but he played the role better before.
December 31, 2025 at 4:53 PM
There's been a lot of strange stuff this year. For some reason, he started reading Pushkin's poems at Valdai. At every performance, he talked about how the Europeans had deceived him. He also said several times that people can live to be 150. I don't know who told him that. He's escaping reality.
December 31, 2025 at 4:36 PM
Doctors can't diagnose Putin with dementia under any circumstances. It's a death sentence for an autocrat. The psychiatrist will likely be thrown out the window after this.
December 31, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Yes, but it seems too early for dementia. What could it be? He's become very strange in the last couple of years. On this 2025 direct line, he had trouble answering even simple questions like: What advice would you give to children?. He seemed to be losing his train of thought.
December 31, 2025 at 6:33 AM
And it's not just in direct lines. It's noticeable everywhere he doesn't read the text.
December 31, 2025 at 5:47 AM
I don't think so. The dynamics are very typical. 0 delays in 2021, about 10 in 2023 and 2024, and 130 in 2025. This is still the same person with the same grievances/inner complexes, but something is happening with their cognitive abilities.
December 31, 2025 at 5:46 AM
I've been making some very interesting observations about Putin on the direct lines. There's reason to believe he's starting to experience cognitive problems. This is evident in the increased speech delays that are reflected in the subtitles. But apparently no one is interested in this information.

A third of Muscovy's population perished during the famine of 1601-1603. Mass cases of cannibalism were also reported.
December 29, 2025 at 1:26 AM
I see parallels with the Troubles of the early 17th century. The reign of Ivan the Terrible devastated the country. But if not for the eruption of Mount Huaynaputina and the global cooling, the Troubles might not have happened.
December 29, 2025 at 1:25 AM
You're right. BUT. It will take years to destroy Russian agriculture. Unless a mega-drought, driven by climate change like in 2024, helps. The same can be said about empty shelves. It will probably take another couple of years to reach that point.
