Thankfully the deputy head also thinks it’s a daft idea and told the volunteers the books need to stay in alphabetical order. But this just highlights why schools need a paid, qualified librarian, not just a room full of books.

I admit I couldn’t hide my abhorrence at the idea of a *library* not keeping fiction books in alphabetical order by author. Reordering them by topic is such a blatantly terrible idea! What if a book has more than one topic?? How will we find all the Julia Donaldson books if they are not together?

There are quite a few mums volunteering and they have done a great job tidying and organising a session for each class. But last week they announced that storing all the picture books on shelves in alphabetical order is not clear enough for the young kids so they want to reorganise them *by topic*.

He then tells me that some of his friends think Frozen and Moana are “just for girls”. Where do kids get these ideas? Honestly I think a lot of men pass this stuff on to their sons. Both of our kids love these films and agreed that’s a silly idea but it makes me sad.

Okay I had to look it up as we’ve never come across it! But I’m glad we haven’t! Looks unpleasant for grown up. 😂

What percentage wool would you look for? And how do you wash the jumpers?
