Seems like this guy must have skipped over the entire Italian experience of World War 2. Bad idea made worse when you look at actual history. Were the Italians happy with their Nazi allies? The ones who occupied their country and forced them to follow Mussolini all the way into the abyss?

My take on this is that Aonishiki might have an express lane to Yokozuna because of this. Onosato is the only rikishi who has a good chance to beat Aonishiki on any given day. Aonishiki is two bashos away from Yokozuna if everything goes his way. Yusho and jun-yusho would do it. Who stops him?

He will be back but I wouldnt bet on him to win the next basho. A shoulder separation will prevent any upper body training and will limit the amount of reps he can take in practices. Your boy Hoshoryu might have a yusho advantage in this one if he can figure out how to stop Aonishiki.

One of the best guys out there, such a tough guy, never an easy win. One of the most memorable. He should probably retire if that diagnosis is true. I bet he would be a great coach, his sumo was so well developed. Its a cruel sport.
