It is a really rough reviews process because you see many very gifted people with very good, extremely necessary research who get high scores but aren’t awarded prizes because there’s just so many of them. This probably doesn’t help much, but the reviews process is the most rigorous I’ve seen.

I didn’t review this round, but the reviewing I’ve done for MCSA is basically anything but cavalier. It’s a really intense process and the weird phrasing you see is basically a consensus view crafted then meta-reviewed for any bias, which can scrub it of specificity.
