Yesterday I visited #USSArizona World War II. Memorial. It was humbling experience. A beautiful morning, as it was on Dec 7, 1941, until the Japanese army attacked.

Just finished 5+ hours visit to #BishopMuseum in Honolulu. intense learning! Excellent exhibitions. My head is spinning from trying to absorb so much information.

Then mining town Santa Rosalía when French company Boleo mined copper until 1940s. This company also brought here prefabricated iron church from France, said to be designed by #GustaveEiffel. An interesting structure indeed!

Day 4 of our #BajaCalifornia #roadtrip: first we went to the mountains, San Francisco de La Sierra, to see thousands of years old cave paintings. We had time only for cueva #ElRatón.

Day 3 of our Baja California #roadtrip. Leaving San Quintin, we visited La Lobera, half-cave with small sand beach used by harbor seals. And then it was Valle de Los Cirios, a beautiful big #cactus 🌵 and succulent plants (Fouqueria). Ended up in Cataviña.

Day two #roadtrip from Ensenada to San Quintin. Cool place to visit is La Bufadora. Visiting just before sunset meant not many people around. I was surprise how much agriculture there is in San Vicente and San Quintin valleys. Mainly caneberries and strawberries, by Driscoll. A LOT of plastic 😥.

#Chayote season is over now - in total I harvested more than 25 fruits, each of them between 1 and 2 pounds. Yesterday I cooked chayote & green chile ( jalapeño, serrano + poblano) #soup which was absolutely delicious!!!

I finally tasted oak leaf #papaya (Carica quercifolia) fruits. Tastes like mild, sweet papaya, no bitterness, thin skin that doesn’t bother when eating. Seeds are small and can’t be easily removed, so I ate them too and it didn’t bother me at all.
