I was cybering before it was punk.

I was 10 in 1987, and can confirm. Plastic bottles made mermaids go extinct. The vending machines for those tall glass bottles were my favorite.

I've seen a few bad sticks of RAM over the years. Most would boot, but have truly random problems. Some were fixed by just reseating the memory. If you have a way to make a USB boot drive, get Memtest86. You can run without installing anything. It has always found bad memory if that was the problem.

Baa Baa Black Sheep too. The melody has a long history before those lyrics were set to it also.

Are naughty and nice mutually exclusive?

I'm a coder with a sketching app on my phone and a finger. I think I could communicate this idea to a concept artist in just a couple minutes.

I say this every year that you post about this movie, but it bears repeating. If you didn't want these things to roll, you should've made them square.

When Google Reader shut down I moved to Feedly. Been there since. Their free version does everything I need (save my feeds, and keep track of what I haven't read yet).

I figured stores were using some predefined playlist when I heard "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya in a Walmart in the US in 2018. I just can't figure out who's playlist.

Another option, they could be like attorneys general.

Oh, and why I knew the first. Anyone looking to make a trivia team?

First, the song is about a Gulfstream G650, which is known as the G6. Second, I guessed it would actually be the economic summit (and it was). Also, the baseline in the song was a result of moving the MIDI lane for the drum programming and dropping it on the bass synth.

But how about the cover of I Have Not Been to Oxford Town (Paradise)?

I call out into the darkness, "hey advertising company, I'm cold," and receive a similar cosiness in return.

A Christmas card I saw as a kid, and I still remember had written on the outside: ABCDEFGHIJKMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

By default that shows the timeline for things like animation.

That lends more to Toaplan just reversing the speaker signal and ground, than it being some wild class-B amp, with one lead being "push" and the other "pull". Mahjong is like, "any ground will do, so we'll leave this one out."
December 7, 2025 at 4:49 PM
I thought the same, basically shorting the amp to ground. Well, filing away JAMMA and Supergun schematics as a rabbit hole to explore. 😁
December 7, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Do you have any more details about why the polarity of the audio connection matters? Is it that one lead is powered and the other is ground? Then the Supergun is expecting to be able to share the ground with everything else grounded?
