That’s true. He could easily end up not contributing much for innings. In my mind I was thinking worst case if he stays healthy. There definitely is a worst case where he starts only a handful of games.

Just my opinion but this is a better signing than people realize. He has very good upside at Oracle. Best case his K rate bounces back up a bit and and he ends up being a steal. Worst case it’s a 1 year commitment on a guy who eats a lot of innings without giving up much hard contact.

Eh, I would be fine with it actually. There are multiple guys like Whis, McDonald, and Birdsong who have shown flashes. Plus Tidwell who has great metrics. There’s a good chance one or more of them emerge as a solid 4/5 starter, or even better by the end of the year like Roupp. Trust the new staff.
