my last "small" landlord doubled rents 2019 to 2023 said needed to stay in the green due to "costs" and prop taxes.
hadnt replaced/upgraded anything in 10+yrs, spent 6mo/yr in florida, and had a prop tax burden of $2795/yr
collected $125k/yr in rent from building; landlords love lying about costs

National/Maine Trust For Local News gave me cautious optimism at first, when they bought PPH and SJ.
Since then, I can't say for certain SJ has gotten any "worse" but their worst habits certainly did not get any better in any way; seems the same for PPH
