Guess all I’m saying is that post only reads problematic if you still think of those traits in a racial context. I don’t disagree the use of “honorable” is an odd choice. But not for the reasons you lay out. And it’s likely due to the lack of a better word to describe what he was going for.

And like I said. If you read those and thought “white QB”, then clearly you haven’t stopped thinking of those as a white QB attribute, so maybe you need to tackle your own prejudices. But some of us do not think that way.

I’m aware of the history. But clearly if you listen to this podcast that is not the framing they are making. Are you not allowed to describe a QB as good decision maker because people used to inappropriate use that in a way to knock black QBs? We need to be able to distinguish varying QB styles.

Literally if you listen, Dak Prescott is compared by this group all the time with Peyton Manning as the last of a dying breed of cerebral QBs. If your brain goes to white qb when you hear “good decision maker” maybe you should consider your own racism and not project that on others.

I’m still not sure what would be considered racist. I’ve reread the post 5 times and not a single word makes me think in any way of a particular race.

As I process through the varying opinions I’ve heard of both, you bring a valid question to the table. Pass rush wise they’re essentially the same raw talent but Shamar gas higher ceiling. Maybe some value Mykel’s higher floor in run game?
