closest similarity would be brawl on arena but instead of one v one its typically a 4 player free-for-all that has a lot of social dynamics to it making it a good format for what you were looking to do.

so the most common format in magic currently is commander which allows for only one of each card. Its a casual multiplayer format of the game. Almost every game store will have a night devoted to the format. If you are looking for a more competitive format I can try to build something else

Ive been enjoying budget building for commanders one might open in a pack so I have been trtying to not include the commander in budget. Treatr the deck as "oh I opened Delney, how do I build a deck without using more than the 25 dollars in cash I have?"
