Happy to update that formerly feral kitty Bast has domesticated herself. She has found many new nap spots around the house (husband's pajama drawer is her favorite) and loves getting snuggles and pets. She does not mind being held, and even (mostly) puts up with the children carting her around.

Guess who is finally ringworm free and ready to party? Bast is already over the extra cuddles and is ready to roam and climb after a long quarantine and would not sit still for a photo (not that I would expect her to). Very excited to have my almost black kitty free in time for Halloween.

Here are a couple egregious examples of the photos I've seen. Check out that carf going into the coffee cup and the crochet hooks in the other cup. Just absolutely amazing. So watch out, trust your instincts, and whenever possibly, try to find the distributor. 5/5

Actually, I'll just go ahead and give you the list! The full track listing is also in the alt text. It's mostly in the order I added each song in, so it probably needs some shifting so the songs flow together better. I hope you enjoy!

Poor little baby Bast has to be kenneled until her ringworm treatment is done (3-5 weeks!). Even with toys and some regular playtime, I know she's getting bored, so today I'm having her hang out next to me in the kitty carrier for a bit. She was unsure at first, but is now enjoying her new view.

The cat distribution system finally caught up with me! We found this little baby in our garage and have named her Bast. She's got ringworm so she has to be kenneled until her treatment is over, which she does not love. She is a sweet and docile little thing and otherwise very healthy.

Big shout out to my gardening partner, Blanche, for patrolling the pumpkin plants and eating anything that might cause problems.

I grew a few stalks of glass gem corn this year, just for fun, and oh my gosh they’re gorgeous!

The preview doesn't show much of the mittens so here's a better view. They're so pretty! And it's a free pattern! Even thought I don't knit, I love Farm & Fiber knits because there's a big focus on natural fibers and small-fiber/yarn producers and I learn so much!

This one always makes me smile. I do not use it enough, but I love it so, so much.

Hey! I know things are tough, so why not learn to weave and make something just for the joy of it? Try this free tapestry bracelet project by the incredible Sarah Neubert. You can weave it on a picture frame using whatever yarns you have on hand! littlelooms.com/library/2062... 1/

My DMC order finally came in! I will be using it as an incentive to get all my articles written and edited by Friday. If I can do that, I'm going to warp up and weave something super pretty.

Took advantage of bookshop.orgs's sale last week to finally pick up this book (no pun intended). I have a million things to do this week so I'm going to give it to my husband to hide until the weekend when I'll reward myself by weaving something pretty. I mean just LOOK at those bands!

If anyone is planning a trip to Albuquerque in the future please stop at Katrina's Ice Cream Shop. It's a Day of the Dead themed and they have ice cream, boba, churros, and paleta. We had strawberries & cream ice cream drizzled with condensed milk and served with hot churros, fruit, and pecans.

Also, if you think "But what you do is so complicated" I will let you know that it's really not! I started doing Baltic pick-up after one inkle weaving class (which didn't cover this technique) using Anne Dixon's book. Once you can read a chart you've got yoruself a whole world of design.

Ok, so my yarn came in! Yay! But I realized I forgot to buy weft yarn so I still need to wait before I get to weaving. Which is probably good because while I am obsessed with this fabric I do not know what to make out of it. It's thick cotton waffle weave. Towels? Runner? #Weaving #rigidheddle

Took a weaving class this weekend and got to weave some waffle weave on a 4-shaft loom for the first time. The teacher used a variegated yarn as the warp and I am OBSESSED. So sad the colorway she used is discontinued because I love it SO MUCH.

Did it take me an embarassing amount of time to hem these towels? Yes. (I waited until literally the day before I had to take photos for an article, lol.) Do I love them more than I can say? Also yes. Also, check out how different they look! Alt text for more info on the close-up photo.

Last week I wove a bunch of 9-end Baltic-pick up designs so this weekend I decided to warp the loom with a 13-end warp with borders. Took me a minute to get used to it, but it's I love being able to weave the more complex designs. Also, weirdly, it's easier to get nice selvedges with this wider warp

Finished my first Baltic-style pick-up sampler. At first I was worried I wouldn't like it because it does require reading a chart for each pick, but it was SO MUCH FUN and I loved seeing the designs magically appear. I think I'm going to re-warp for more complex designs.

Trying Baltic-style pick-up. I did it a few years ago when I took a backstrap class but then never picked it up again. When I'm done this sampler, I think I'm going to try some with multi-colored pattern threads.

For the second towel I've switched up the weft and I'm trying out a waffle weave which will show up after the towel is wet-finished. Really love how much the pink pops on the background!

My first experiment in (mostly) random warping. This will eventually become a set of towels, one with a purple weft (shown here) and one with pink. All except the pink yarn look purple when viewed alone so it's interesting to see how many shifted to blue/gray when paired with more vibrant purples.

Opinions needed! I'm trying to figure out what weft color to use in this piece. From top to bottom: 1 med and dark purple, 2 dark purple and med pink, 3 med pink, 4 dark purple, and 5 bright pink. (Note: Bright pink is a thick yarn so I can't combine it with another color as in samples 1 and 2.)
