Sheer delight in book form! Highly recommend the audio version, narrated brilliantly by J. Smith-Cameron and a perfectly-paced 4 hours 23 minutes long.

I’m so grateful for this incredibly thoughtful and warm response to Show Me Where It Hurts, from the supremely talented Florence Knapp.
Florence’s own debut, The Names, is out in May, and is as beautiful as you would expect from her writing here.

Please take the grubbiness of this cover as evidence of the fact that I really couldn’t put it down. Can anyone beat @wednesdayerskin.bsky.social’s ability to build character, in layer upon layer of tiny details? Every one felt entirely real to me.
This will be one of *the* books of 2025.

Small Bomb At Dimperley, by lissakevans.bsky.social, is an utter delight - both genuinely touching and really funny. Perfect for all fans of Mitfords, Cazalets and their ilk.

It’s been cold enough the last few days to justify starting early on the annual Christmas murder mystery read. Both this and 2022’s similar collection are excellent - a few stories date a bit less well than the rest, but all are brilliantly plotted and thoroughly entertaining.
