Daylighting is a trusted, proven street safety measure adopted from Paris to San Francisco. If I were DOT commissioner, I wouldn’t wait for another person to die to daylight our streets.

The majority of 253 traffic deaths last year in NYC took place at an intersection. Death after death, every intersection that DOT drags their feet to daylight more NYrs die.

A flood advisory is in effect tonight from 8:00 p.m. through tomorrow, August 22nd at 1:00 a.m. The National Weather Service warns of heavy rain that may cause flooding on highways, streets, and low-lying areas. Please stay alert and take necessary precautions.

@NY4P, @CMJulieWon, @SenGonzalezNY, and community allies have launched a petition calling on to @NYCMayor, @NYCParks and @NYC_DOT to restore and reopen the park and nearby publicly-owned lots, a priority in a district which severely lacks of parkland.

In the 1980s, the City closed the park for bridge repairs, began parking vehicles on parkland, and never fully reopened it.
