Our office released a new study highlighting rampant illegal parking across Downtown Brooklyn. Vehicles block sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes & loading zones - making it more dangerous for New Yorkers to get around the neighborhood.

We also celebrated the great Jane O’Connell from DEC, who has overseen some of the most complex remediation projects in Greenpoint, including NuHart. Her expertise, accountability, & the highest standards of remediation are unmatched.

I joined @NYSDEC & Madison Realty Capital for a ribbon cutting at Greenpoint Central — housing on the former NuHart Plastic Manufacturing site. This site shows how remediation should be done: cleaning up toxic plumes to transform into homes for our community.

We introduced legislation to ensure that when the City is installing 32-ft Link5G towers, they will be required to notify neighbors & solicit community input.

At the very minimum, neighbors deserve notice about what’s being built right outside their homes.

This weekend we canvassed small businesses in Williamsburg and Greenpoint to educate employers about what to do if ICE shows up. We will be hosting more outreach events to share actionable information about how to keep our community safe.

Our office had a great time at McGolrick Park this weekend at our Greenpoint Eco Day! We gave out 500 bike helmets with @NYC_DOT, 7,000 pounds of compost, and 150 leaf bags!

Our office partnered with @GoodwillNYNJ to host residents from Acacia’s Atlantic Ave shelter to provide free professional clothes and connect clients with job & mental health resources.

Dozens of our neighbors left with new outfits and new opportunities—thank you Goodwill!

.@NYC_DOT is starting work today on initial stage of center-running bus lanes on Flatbush Ave between Livingston St & State St!

The project will also bring new loading zones, safety upgrades, and expanded pedestrian space—making Flatbush safer, faster & more reliable.

🌳🌱In partnership with @NYCParks, we planted Brooklyn’s first mini forest in Williamsburg!

This once-rundown space at N. 4th St & N. 4th Pl is now a thriving pocket forest that will boost biodiversity, improve air quality, prevent flooding & beautify the neighborhood.

I loved joining @NY4ChildCare’s rally (with my little guy!) to demand more affordable childcare for working families!

The City Council took a first step on 2-Care this year with a small pilot and now we need to expand it to make sure all working families have access to universal child care!

New Yorkers deserve a Mayor who is focused on what we need—on faster, more frequent buses, on keeping our young people out of jail, on ending NYPD corruption and misconduct, and on ensuring our quality of life. This MMR proves once again that Eric Adams was never up to the task.

New Yorkers are seeing drastically less accountability for increasing police officer misconduct. There were over 1,000 substantiated complaints last year—almost triple from before Adams took office. And NYPD overturned 22% more recommendations for discipline last year.

The MMR also shows that Eric Adams continues to fall woefully short of his pledge to create 150 miles of bus lanes in four years. DOT installed just 5 miles this year (and a total of only 42 since Adams came into office)—out of 3,200 total bus route miles in our City.

Our quality of life is suffering—our parks are getting dirtier. Eric Adams cut 1,400 seasonal parks positions, the people responsible for picking up trash and maintaining our green spaces. This has led to a decline in the overall condition and cleanliness of our parks.

Instead of investing in our youth, Eric Adams is sending more kids to jail. Youth admissions to detention are up another 25% and have almost doubled since Adams took office. There was an 80% increase in prosecutions against youth and 10-point drop in kids referred to diversion.

The 2025 Mayor’s Management Report is clear: New Yorkers are paying the price for Eric Adams’ relentless austerity budgets. Spending cuts have deep, lasting consequences—and they’re exacerbated by the Mayor’s severe mismanagement of our City government.
