Yeah, wasn't naive enough to expect actual cutting commentary but the half/half approach felt ultimately pointless and like it ate time in what is quite an important episode for the season as a whole plot-wise

It clearly wants to seem anti-eurovision but doesn't do enough with it to warrant it even being there-narratively or politically imo

Oh no I didn't but then the episode tried to have its cake and eat it.
I'd have rather they just had a completely tone deaf celebration of the whole thing than criticising the "sponsors" and a tiny bit the show itself.

On when Alex arrives was nice if predictable but I'll take any second of them interacting even a repeat.
In all it was a fun bonus to True Colors but worse in that regard than farewell was to Before the Storm, an unfair comparison given the latter's emotional weight, but still.

The glimpses of her interactions with haven were nice especially the stuff with gabe, Ryan and Charlotte but it feels they were afraid to do too much because these interactions would still be recent by True Colors where they obviously weren't mentioned other than the foosball with gabe. Ending (4/5)

Probably the most interesting thing it did was show how affected Steph was by LiS 1 but because she didn't exist in that game, had a more minor role in Before the Storm and the events of LiS 1 aren't acknowledged in true colors it feels stapled on rather than a core part of stephs character (3/5)

The bit during pride was cool and probably the most frank discussion of queerness and sexuality in LiS so far (unless there's more in 2) but since Steph has been out seemingly going back as to Before the Storm didn't seem hugely impactful (I'm straight af so probably missing a lot of meaning) (2/?)

With her but I'm sure there's some thematic reason as to why she's not and you can definitely come up with easy explanations for her not being there despite them leaving and (judging by the text) still being together.
Overall fantastic game and cautiously looking towards double exposure next.

Series for me since while I probably like more of its overall elements the max and chloe relationship really resonated with me so gives LiS 1 (and to a lesser extent Before the Storm) a big boost.
One issue with the ending, think steph should be been on stage with Alex pre-credits if you leave (5/?)

Ryan still worked well platonically.
The vibe/atmosphere of the game worked really well as I've come to expect from LiS which includes the music. None has hit me as hard as some LiS 1 or Before the Storm choices but it was all still really nice.
Hard to say where this game ranks overall in the (4/?)

And dislikeable.
Steph and Ryan were really strong as the main side characters and worked well as complements to each other and Alex and representing the two paths for Alex's future. And even though I only really saw the romantic chemistry between steph and Alex, I thought Alex's dynamic with (3/?)

Alex was a really strong protagonist and I loved her journey and how well she suited the themes and tone of the game and she was definitely more likeable as a protagonist than chloe or max (not necessarily better). Jed was a good antagonist, worked well as a foil to Alex and was equally tragic (2/?)
