Where the poor go to prison and the rich go free.
Where witnesses are rented, bought, or bribed.
Where people are tried not because of any criminal actions but because of their political beliefs.”

Saying "I want to protect my community", "I want to change the system", "Not all of us are like that", and “I want to make sure we get “criminals” off the streets” is an interesting lie to say when you’re silent or complicit when defending law enforcement who abuse their power

To be Latino/a/x and work for DHS, ICE, or Border Patrol is beyond wild. Like, to actively play a part in destroying families, violating human & civil rights, and abuse power of authority while “claiming” your “culture” and playing respectability politics is self-hate at its core.
