The Chipping Norton Swifts Under-13 Girls’ team has a limited number of spaces available for the 2026/27 season. We are ideally looking for players with some footballing experience.

Training currently takes place on Fridays from 5–6pm at CNS and matches are played on Saturday mornings.

Congratulations to Anna Clayson-Ward who represented Oxfordshire SFA vs England ISFA at St George’s Park (9.12.25). Despite a tough 6–0 loss to a strong England side, it was a brilliant experience. Issy Hunt is also part of this team but is currently injured and fundraising for surgery.

Year 8 had a fantastic 14-4 win against Marlborough this afternoon. Everyone worked super hard in a very warm Sports hall, some even out of position for one of the quarters. It's great to be ending the year on a win!

Today was the start of our house matches across CNS. It was great to see so many of our students out representing their tutor groups and their houses across various sports and working hard to score house points. What a great start to the house matches season with our year 7 and year 8 students!

To continue our busy period of fixtures CNS visited Chipping Campden last week for a Netball meet. Our Year 11's played brilliantly and won, the year 10 team battled but unfortunately came out second. The Year 9 teams had mixed success with one team also coming out on top and one team coming close

Last week Year 10 girls went to Banbury RFC to do a session with Scottish World Cup Scrum Half Caity Mattinson. It was a T1 Rugby session and the girls loved it and working with such an experienced player was incredible.

Last nigh our Year 11 football team made the long trip across the Lord Williams in the Quarter final of the u16 football county cup. After going 1-0 down the boys responded brilliantly with 3 unanswered goals to end up deserved winners 3-1 and book a place in the semi finals against Woodgreen school

The year 8 Rugby team played against a strong Burford team tonight. The boys fought to the end and were very resilient showing some good quality and scoring a couple of brilliant tries. Well done for a performance where we never gave in, in what was tough conditions at Chipping Norton.

Last Friday we had our first Basketball fixture against Carterton school for U15s. The boys did really well and were competitive throughout in what was a great game providing opportunity for boys to play Basketball for the school! L.Gitaua, S.Shumanskyi, E.Soper and A.Wright with our buckets

Last Wednesday we had Yr 8 Netball vs Carterton with CNS coming out on top 27-16. Here is a match report from one of our students!
"CNS Year 8 Netball played really well against Carterton, the score was 27-16.
POM was Poppy but we all played the best we’ve played all year in my opinion"

The amazing Amber in Year 11 competed in the British Down Syndrome Swimming Championships this weekend in Sussex. She placed 1st in 25m Breaststroke, 2nd in the 50m Breaststroke and 3rd in 25m Backstroke. We are so proud of this unbelievable achievement to have one the best swimmers with us at CNS!

We hosted our first ever Year 10 B team Rugby game against Cokethorpe School today. It was a brilliant opportunity with 23 boys representing the school and many for the first time. We came out as 41-7 winners with tries from A.Edwards, H.Belcher, W.Hancock, E.Soper.
Well done to all involved!

The Year 9 boys beat The Oxford Academy in the third round of the national cup 5-2 at home with goals from L.Maule, D. Sparvell, F.Bayliss and B.Poradan capping a competitive and battling performance from our boys.
Up next we will travel to either Lord Williams or King Alfreds in the fourth round!

Last night we also took Yr 7 Girls to Burford for a Hockey tournament. Despite having only done 1 lesson of Hockey, the girls were brilliant and came 4th overall. Player of the tournament was Olivia, who showed excellent footwork skills in goal for the first time ever. Tandy and Collett were proud 🤩

Last night the Oxfordshire U16 County football rep team played a friendly against the U15 side.
We want to recognise both Tom C and Sam M from year 11 and year 10 who represented us last night and played very well in securing a 2-1 win

Congratulations to the Year 11 football team who beat Burford School in the Second Round of the Oxfordshire County Cup.

The game finished 3-1 To CNS who will play either Lord Williams or Oxford Spires Academy in the next round of the cup!

The Year 11s played Chipping Camden Senior B team and secured a convincing 21–9 victory. Well done to Darcey, who was chosen by Chipping Camden as our Player of the Match!

Year 8 Netball vs Marlborough

Check out the smiles on these girls’ faces! They played Marlborough this week and won 16–14 in a very close and competitive match. Well done to Rose, who was voted Player of the Match!

Tonight we hosted the WOSSP U14 Netball Tournament, and our squad were outstanding! They won every game, scoring an incredible 50 goals and conceding just 4 throughout the afternoon. This team continues to go from strength to strength — they are the netball champions of West Oxfordshire!

Year 7 Netball vs Marlborough School

Our Year 7 girls enjoyed their match against Marlborough School on Tuesday. Although they lost 3–20, they showed great courage and determination throughout, never giving up and continuing to play with smiles on their faces.
