When I went camping for the first and last time, I froze my ass off. Got the local winter weather survival badge and quit.

But the idea still appeals to me. Given better preparedness. We also have beer and other things to make it fun lol

Makoto Yukimura was worried that Vinland Saga's farming arc and "I have no enemies" moment was a gamble that readers wouldn't like. I told him about the J. Cole meme from the Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap beef. This is how he reacted.

If “I have no enemies” has become a meme and people remember it, then maybe people will understand what I’m really trying to say through the story, which is that humans are immature, but we can mature. To become mature is to become kind. This is the foundation of what I’m trying to say, but it really has to be much shorter for people to remember. But it does give me hope that people remember these short phrases as memes. Then, one day, it will click in their mind what I was trying to really say in the first place.

Something I have to remind people outside the industry is how little power actors have in the grand scheme of things. It's not to say there aren't enablers to bad behavior – there always are. But studios/producers/directors are SO out of touch that they just... genuinely don't know.

But I'll say this to every underrepresented group out there hurt by this man's words: Any minority. My female, black, trans, gay friends, family, fans, or even people who don't know me...

Please remember to do some basic research into who is posting rosters and casting call notices. I know how compelling it is to just "submit to everything" because you want to work, but it is really important that you verify that the person or group you are submitting to are legitimate.

Finally: AI cannot do your job, but an AI salesman can 100% convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that can't do your job, and when the bubble bursts, the money-hemorrhaging "foundation models" will be shut off and we'll lose the AI that can't do your job, and you will be long gone, retrained or retired or "discouraged" and out of the labor market, and no one will do your job.
AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:
