🌲After standing here quietly (majestically, let’s be honest) for hundreds of years, I’m seeing what this social media thing is all about. Encouraged by my friends @sempervirensfund.bsky.social who protect my forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Behold, my crown! 👑 Sure, I’m seen as regal. But my crown isn’t just for show - plants, birds, salamanders and other critters make a home here. Basically it’s my own sky high ecosystem with a lifespan well beyond any royalty.

The Candelabra Tree is a legend here. And in a forest full of mighty icons, that’s saying something. Pay your respects at Butano State Park: sempervirens.org/trails-rx/si...

“Heavy fog with a chance of more fog” is my favorite weather. 😶‍🌫️

Yes, I’m strong on my own. But together? We’re a force to be reckoned with. Our intertwined roots help us to share resources and withstand storms. By growing close, we help protect each other during wildfires and recover faster afterwards.

I love getting new admirers, especially little humans. 📸💚

I give new meaning to being well-connected. Up here, we’re interconnected. Branch to branch, crown to fog, tree to wildlife, we’re at the center of a wild, living system.

I wouldn't mind a hug. 💚 Happy National Love a Tree Day!

I’m used to being looked up to but I’ll always look up to the one who cares for us all, Mother Earth. 💚 Happy Mother’s Day! 💚

I have many talents. One of the coolest is making it rain. My leaves absorb moisture from fog and condense it into drops of rain. And then there's terpenes. My leaves release them to help condense moisture in the air into clouds that cool the forest. Pretty magical, right?

You would not believe the number of friends using my canopy as a home. Bats and squirrels, ferns, moss, lichen, huckleberries, and even the occasional full-sized tree (that felt a little cramped). A wandering salamander once lived their entire life up here! I am a nurturer. 💚

A little about me:
🌲 I’m tall (really tall), protective, and resilient
🌲 I believe in growth (slow but sure)
🌲 I'm a committed climate champion (ask me how much CO2 I've captured)
🌲 Some say I’m a little dramatic but remember, I’ve seen some things (droughts, wildfires, spider mites, etc.)

Happy #ArborDay! How nice you created a day to appreciate all of us. Just a note, I am the tallest tree (by far.)
