This is unreal. The 2026 code4lib conference has been cancelled unilaterally by Carnegie Mellon University because the Department of Education raised issues with the diversity scholarships:

My wife, though raised in Nebraska herself, reacted with befuddlement when confronted by this senior center sign in my hometown a few years ago. She wanted to know if it was a dance with gowns and everything. Absent context, I guess I can see the problem
