Cody City Council members appointed a new member to the SSC board, Phillip Velayo of Cody, during their Tuesday meeting. A competitive shooter and marine veteran, he will replace board member Jim Saubier.

With the return of 1,000-point scorer, Max Potas, the Meeteetse Longhorns could make some noise in Class A basketball this year — the Longhorns got to states a couple years ago, so why not make a return trip?
