I live in Minnesota and also visit Montreal frequently, so winter is something we live with. The author only talks about European experiences. How about First Nations, Inuit, Sami, or in the South, Mapuche and other non-Europeans?

... so we are thinking of Costa Rica (we have friends and family) and northern Portugal. Nicaragua? maybe, but I have family on both sides and it is a little tense with them at the moment, but I would visit frequently. Sonia is 2nd year McGill... anthro major (Ostie! but pushing an MPH).

I've been rereading some of my notes from Nicaragua and I am not sure if I ever acknowledge the great amount of help you provided. Anyway, I have been in Nicaragua since 2019, but I am approaching that state of life were moving somewhere else might be good... without Fascist salutes...
