Sweden’s coffee habit is now driving more Amazon deforestation than beef. Yes, you read that right.

New data shows Swedish coffee consumption was linked to 331 hectares of Amazon forest loss in 2022 — about 463 football fields. Beef came in second at 236 hectares.
