This is misleading. The energy usage doesn't come from the queries, it comes from the training.

These guys act like AI just arose naturally or was bestowed by some divine entity, rather than the reality that it was designed by humans who imbue it with their biases.

There is no reason for robots to be built like humans. You could design a robot that is perfectly capable of navigating a home and performing household tasks that isn't human shaped. I am convinced the only reason rich people want them to be is because they want to feel like they own a person.
