Not just Portugal. I met a lovely couple a few weeks ago who were visiting my hometown. They've been living in France (the Dordogne) for twenty years. They say Americans are flooding into France to escape the mess in America. @theguardian.com

As a kid in the 80s I used to swim here with my mates. The water was crystal clear and ranunculus was everywhere. The River Wye is now a brownish colour and not any ranunculus at all. You could even see the pebbles beneath the water. How have we let this happen?
