Slowly, without any rush, I’m coming back to life.
Still cold, still with rationed electricity at home, but the heating is better
(more than a thousand high-rise buildings can’t say the same).

Today, I had a warcoffee at a bookstore and bought two books.
Maybe I’ll start reading again.

Greetings from Kyiv.

I hadn’t been to Sophia Square for over a month.
The last time, there was a Christmas tree here.

Standing there today, I felt it deeply:
we survived this winter.
We did it.

Greetings from Kyiv.

Just checking in.
Nothing new, electricity and heating remain difficult here.
The frost doesn’t leave us, -16 °C now.

Hope your Monday is (or was) kind, and that you’re grateful for everything you have.

Electricity is back for a short, dear while.
I’ve published new excerpts from my diary.

Sunday evening.
russia is attacking us with ballistic missiles for the second time today.

I just wonder if there’s anything left in our energy infrastructure that hasn’t been destroyed yet.

Greetings from Kyiv.

Having a warcoffee now.
The café in the mall is packed today,
and many people are at the skating rink.
It’s much better than sitting in dark, often cold apartments.

Kyiv won’t surrender. I see it in our eyes.

Electricity is back for a short while.
I’ve put all the essentials to charge.

Sitting here, looking at the light and grateful to everyone who keeps it on in Ukraine. Titans.

We had one hour of electricity and were told we’ll get about 1.5-2 hours a day (yes, out of 24 hours).
The boiler heated water,
I washed my hair,
charged the EcoFlow (not fully).

That’s all.
These are the consequences of russian attacks.

Greetings from Kyiv

Morning here.
Had a warcoffee, the EcoFlow barista made it.
No power, and no idea when it’ll return. russia launched a large-scale strike on Ukraine’s power grid, damaging major thermal plants and high-voltage lines.

Are you still here? Still listening to the story of genocide?

We were warned of a possible attack tonight.
Me?
Had a warcoffee, made dinner, and charged everything (we had 2.5 hours of power).
Feeling nothing.

We’ll survive everything. I know.

Now I order thermos flasks.

The time for books will come.

and a warcoffee after the workout.

The repairman fixed the windows, and I hope the little warmth we still have will now stay inside the flat.

1,126 high-rise buildings on the left bank of Kyiv (where I live) remain without heating after the latest russian attack.

It was so good to read this.
157 Ukrainians came home from russian captivity today after a prisoner swap.

One hundred fifty-seven. More, please.

Greetings from Kyiv.

Winter’s survival mode drains a lot of energy.
Voltage drops and constant power cuts wear out the meter. I have to choose what to charge in the rare hours of electricity.
Finally found someone to fix the windows, the drafts make the flat even colder.

Spring, we need you.

Greetings from Kyiv.

I know some of you care, so I came here to say hi.
Nothing new: low heating, power outages.
At least cold water is stable (hot water appears only when we have electricity).

-8 °C and snow outside. Tropical vibes 😂

I went to the Dnipro River today.
Still frozen.

I just want to remind you that russians chose the coldest night to launch the most severe attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

We’ve just got power back!
After a heavy night attack,
they managed to give us some electricity.
Even if it won’t last long, it feels like magic.

Glory to Ukrainian engineers 💪

Now it’s gone.
But even an hour is a gift in the current situation.

Morning after a massive russian attack.

The district where we live is mostly without heating or electricity.
According to the mayor, 1,170 residential high-rise buildings in Kyiv are without heat (we still have a minimal one, but no power).

-19 °C outside.
This is genocide.

Explosions echo in the severe frost.
And I wonder how much heat, electricity, or water will be left by morning.

The morning will come,
with or without us.
