Excited to share our first publication on metal-organic soft materials. Specifically, a new type of metal-binding polymer that shows changes in physical characteristics without extensive polymer crosslinking. Thanks to Dr. Mingshi Zhang for his efforts!

Controlling the Mechanical Response of Polymers via Metal Induced Coordination Conformational Changes

Polymers containing edta groups can bind metal ions in an intrachain manner that results in “microrigidification” of the polymer backbone and subsequent changes in mechanical characteristics.
