For a few weeks now I've wanted to make a more insect-like version of Zael and Nephli 🐜
When I first created them in 2018, their appearance was inspired by angels. But as I wrote the novel, I increasingly started to describe them as some kind of arthropod.

The inspiration for this #comic was from what is done to horseshoe crabs.
In the world of my story there are giant grasshopper-like bugs that they call The Vermin and they are the natural predators of the people. This scene would be a little later in the novel than the previous one.

This scene is inspired by the “Lisado de Corazón”, a technique developed by Federico Díaz, a Pharmaceutical Chemist from Rivera, Uruguay.
What I made with my characters is in a fictional setting, so it is not exactly the same process.

The underground city, where the surviving exiled created their own society. They are those born without light, except for Zael, who was excluded by the Alados (winged ones) because of a different reason, being born with an odd number of wings.

More about my #originalcharacters, this one is Nephli. He is one of the main medics from his city, where those born in darkness live. He practices a mix of both traditional and modern medicine. Here he is collecting herbs to make medication and to repel The Vermin, their main predators
