One of the most unique, gut twisting reading experiences I’ve had. It is too simple a novel, too slippery of journalism, too stylistically flattened to be prosaic; it is a story about a man’s life and three murders— two he commits and then his own at the hands of the state.

A literary novel disguised as a noir thriller; come for the mysterious spy possibly quite bad at her job and stay for the emails she spends most of the book reading while drinking too much beer. Compelling in strange places
