UConn Women's Basketball captured their 12th national title with an emotional 82-59 victory over South Carolina in Tampa Sunday afternoon.

Azzi Fudd added 13 more points for a game-high 27 on 11-24 shooting. Sarah Strong finished with 23 while Blanca Quinonez dropped 10 off the bench.

Three Hawkeyes, led by Hannah Stuelke's 17, finished in double figures.

The Huskies made five threes in the period, two more than they had in the entire first half. Azzi Fudd scored eight points, joining Sarah Strong in double figures with 14 for the game.

ICYMI: Sarah Strong started 0-3 from the field and committed six first-half turnovers.

Strong overcame both of those issues.

She did not give the ball away after halftime and made her last nine shots as No. 1 UConn beat Marquette 89-53.
