Here’s my best idea for my brokerage account given a few constraints. VOO/QQQ/IBIT/Cash weighted at 50/40/5/5 %. Constraints: 1. Minimize risk of ruin; 2. Optimize terminal value over 10 yrs; 3. Simple; and 4. Liquid ETFs only (don’t have time or edge for active stock buys/sells).

Optimism is the philosophy that mistakes can be corrected. It’s not prophecy in a better future. As David Deutsch says in The Beginning of Infinity (p. 64-65): problems are inevitable; but they are soluable given sufficient knowledge.

We can make conjectures as to who shall rule, what are the best aims & policies, but inevitably there will be mistakes. Therefore we must have and protect error correcting mechanisms.
