These games often leave me wishing I just played a board game. They’re not as mechanically deep as many modern board games and not as thematically and story rich as story focused RPGs.

Something like as you both take watch in the whispering wood describe what whispers you hear and how you rely on your companion to keep you present. You may each clear a condition.

I’ve been doodling ideas for a fantasy CfB game for a bit and I’ve always thought Unscenes could be a great way to do journeys. I’ve fiddled with the idea since I would have a greater combat emphasis to allow these journey scenes to also incorporate ways to clear conditions.

I keep thinking about a game where you use clues to determine a monsters weak point allowing the party to damage it. (The clues allow you to determine that Smaug has a missing scale that you then have the opportunity to exploit)

It’s so great in the greater Star Trek cannon because it’s a rebuke of Kirk’s actions regarding the Kobayashi Maru.

Really feels like there is a huge untapped potential in making more classic literature stories into muppets movies.
