Mining waste is a real issue. This is the case for uranium, rare earths, copper or any other resource. It can be a real headache though, like in below video.

Recycling one of the most common metals in the planet cost far more than mining more, which we can't not do as it's a byproduct of other mining such as rare earth refining. Isn't this like putting an oxygen recycler on my house to save me opening a window?"
