Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.

If you needed a vivid reminder of why COVID got out of hand in 2020, you saw a president today scapegoating, wildly speculating, and surrounding himself with yes men, instead of hearing from experts.

The next four years will show us why ignoring and purging government experts is so dangerous.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.
