To anyone not paying attention, this is not a DISCORD decision. It's a local government regulation that's pushing for this: the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024 in Australia and the Online Safety Act (OSA) 2023 in the UK. It's following those implemented laws. 🧵
Discord has added a new age verification system for some users that requires them to scan their face or ID to access sensitive material.
