That's where I encountered Neville Fraser's 20C diaries.

Across 7 diaries, Neville writes about college sporting events; social occasions; holidays; experiences during World War 1; and his responses to broader world events such as the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914. #collection

It's times like this I find it really beneficial to stop & appreciate that, once upon a time, someone had a good day, or even a 'fairly decent day'.

Sometimes, transcribing material is a time-crunch. Between assessing digitised manuscripts, uploading data, tagging material for AI training, and situating it all within an archival policy framework, it's hard to just sit with what is written on the screen before me and engage with people's lives.
