my mum's been (rightly) complaining to me that she has barely any memories of City between 2018-2024 because we don't make season review DVDs anymore, so that's my gift to her for Christmas. gonna make season review DVDs of our Fourmidables & Treble Winners seasons basically from scratch.

re-watching Jaws. the scene with Brody and his son at the dinner table, with the little lad copying his dad's every move, is so so beautiful. Spielberg cooks so much in the small moments. what a picturemaker. 29 years old when he made it as well. can't even wrap my head around it.

going off The Traitors. the attempts to make every episode EPIC & DRAMATIC are getting intrusive. the format of the game is good, just let it ebb and flow and do its thing!

this is my One Big Fear. i want a lot of people to listen to my music but not, like, too many. i have no real grasp of what ignorances, prejudices, and ~problematic~ parts of myself might be revealed by my songs. if 100 people bought my album, that'd be great. if 1,000 people bought it... nope.
if your current project became the Next Big Thing, what would the discourse about it be like?

yep, that's that for the "title race". not that there's ever actually really been one. City improving on last season overall but we're just not ready yet. plus the squad is in a right state. 75-79 points, have a go at the cups, see you again next year! 👋

feels absolutely horrendous to know we're less than two years away from an ITV2 documentary titled Jesy Nelson: My Babies and Me.

think we do have to go into the market for a new CB now. not sure we can sustain 4-6 weeks of Khusanov, a broken Nathan Ake, and 20 y/o from Watford - not with a game every three days. we could do worse than bringing Akanji back if we can't sign anyone permanently tbh.

started wondering after the Forest game if we were in a title race but shouldn't have been tempted away from the perspective i've had since June. the target is next season. we've got a changing squad that's building, Arsenal are years into their process and have clicked. will be 10-ish points in it.

lost any affection for Stranger Things after S3 but it did strike me yesterday that i saw the very first episode in 2016 with my GF at the time & her mum and that i was watching the finale in 2026 with my wife & MIL. hard not to go "aw, it's been an era, hasn't it?" it's been around through a lot.

thought we'd be miles off a title race this year, had my eye on next year, so being in one ahead of schedule is great. frustrating game tonight but loving the frustration and excitement again. also Sunderland fans & players are so united - can see why they're unbeaten at home still.

that Stranger Things finale sure was the last episode of the show, you can say that much. i dunno, i just can't remember the last time it ever did anything to surprise me. it wasn't actually "for kids" at first but they slowly hid further and further behind that mischaracterisation imo.

album is so so so so so close now to being done.

tell me, have you ever listened to a power pop/alt rock/pop punk/singer-songwriter record that's also a stupidly high concept album about a guy being driven insane by the internet? well if you haven't then you should listen to THIS when it's out.

Last Jedi maybe wasn't the genesis point (?? unsure what was) but it was the first time i saw *that kind of pattern* happen in real time, and then it happened to literally every major media property after that
And I remember watching that shift happen in real time! For a good long while, you basically could not talk about the film publicly (online or IRL at a party) without someone coming up and regurgitating a youtube video at you about how you were wrong, and it sucked, and had Ruined Star Wars

cannot stop watching the footage of that Ahmed El Ahmed guy. how the fuck do you manage to do that when your mind's going a mile a minute. just leathers a guy wielding a massive rifle and somehow ends up in charge of the situation. christ alive.

still think a fully fit Arsenal will walk away from everyone else in the end, but after last season it's just nice for City to be seriously involved in title conversations again.
