I’m not sure you’ll ever be able to do that. At least this way, you’re avoiding it becoming boring. Also, the points per foul would be higher because of the automatic point, so there is less expected value in the intentional foul.

Correct. But it would speed up the game massively. My issue is that free throws take forever now. It would literally be one free throw and we’re back playing ball.

Make it one automatic point and one free throw (for all shooting fouls throughout the game) and you remove the issue altogether.

Have said for a long time, I would remove the two free throws for a shooting foul. Would make it one automatic point and one free throw. Would remove the most boring aspect of the game.

Agreed. Regardless of the captaincy, trading horvat and keeping miller was the sliding doors moment.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but I feel zero ill will towards Quinn. He gave this team years to get its act together and put a competitive team around him. He didn’t fake an injury to get out, or refuse to play or anything. He was the best D in our history right to the end. Wish him nothing but the best

What a list to be atop. #lfc

Haha. That’s awesome.

Knew it was coming. Feels sickening nonetheless. Best skater I’ve ever watched for the Canucks.

It’s how soccer is played around the whole world. I’ve never heard an issue for colour blind athletes.

Thatcher Demko, if he can get healthy.

He was absolutely terrific from the first moment he came into the game. Think we might see the same lineup on the weekend, but with Wirtz in for one of the four midfielders from teh start (presumably one of Macca or Curtis). Up the Champion Reds. #LFC

If the "home colours" don't clash, then both teams should wear their home colours. Would look so much better. Tonight's Vegas/NYI game, for example, would look much better as gold vs blue.
December 10, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Will be fascinating to see what he does for Brighton on the weekend. It's one thing to line up defensively and be "hard to beat" against Inter in the San Siro, it's another thing to line up that way against Brighton at Anfield. Baby steps, though.
December 10, 2025 at 12:40 AM
Yep. Result aside, it was terrific. Only other downside were the fire ants in our designated tailgate area. 🤷‍♂️. Great atmosphere in our end, though.

I hate that this is how this is ending. :-(
December 8, 2025 at 3:38 PM
The slow clipped ball to the back post that was either an easy catch for the keeper or a throw in on the other side. Ugh.

I think the rebuild vs refresh comes down to whether Quinn wants to re-sign. The fact that Rutherford/Allvin are talking rebuild now means that Quinn almost certainly isn't re-signing. If he's being traded, then I think that everyone has to be available to trade and you try to build for 2030 🤮
December 1, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Sherwood isn’t going to re-sign for a team in rebuild though, is he? If he can get traded to a team that is in playoff contention, isn’t that the outcome he would want? Him being moved this year feels like a win for all parties, unfortunately (other than us who have to live through the rebuild).

If Bowen’s shot is fractionally different, the narrative today is drastically different. Remember that the next time everyone is losing their heads. You’re never as good as you think you are after you win, and you’re never as bad as you think you after you lose. Up the Champion Reds. #lfc

Sunderland and Brighton are no mugs. Need to just focus on what we're doing and see if we can find some consistent form. One swallow does not a spring make, and all that. Big call on whether Slot keeps the same lineup (including Mo on the bench) against Sunderland. Up the Champion Reds. #LFC.

He’s had little success when we tried that years ago, though. We ended up having more success with Sadio there whenever Bobby was out. Salah certainly never looked comfortable in that spot.
December 1, 2025 at 5:30 AM
When Flo has played behind a front-3, we've been too soft in midfield (especially because Salah offers little defensively). When Salah has played previously in a front-2, we've been too easy to handle offensively because Salah doesn't want to start play directly in front of goal. Hard to reconcile.

Bowen came awfully close to ruining the script, but deserved three points for the Reds.
