Shrike's flirting is largely nonverbal and in the form of his body language around someone engaged with him. If he really, really likes someone he'll be more direct (but still simple) with his words and more importantly be doing favors and making time for them.

honestly most of my XIV writing comes down to my personal distaste for God's Chosen Hero type tropes that the WoL tends to embody and my belief that if you have a character like that they're bound to create so much friction with the rest of the setting that a response WILL happen

I want to continue Shrike's story beyond any potential involvement he might have in MSQ after Heavensward and the dilemma is mostly that I would really like to do it as developments of RP with someone else and that I'm always torn if I want to focus on his role as a detective or potentially a mentor
