Dangit, I'm in the middle of moving our library to another room so nothing is really properly shelved right now because the moving process has been as time allows. The call is for "random comics shelf".

So one shelf that's mostly comics, coming up. (The thick trades are Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond.)

Back in the day...I used to throw not so in focus photographs into Photoshop and run a filter on them. At the time, it felt kinda cool. Now with AI infiltrating the art world, seeing one of these again while going through old files makes me sad. Wow was I being lazy...even if was fun to play around.
An image created in 2017 from a blurry photograph of yellow day lilies surrounded by various other non flowering herbaceous plants run through a Photoshop filter called paint daubs. Five of the flowers are in full bloom, and about a half dozen more are still closed and developing their flowers. The background is comprised of at least a dozen species of green bearing leaves.

I misread a request, and didn't realize it until after I went to grab some books out of my library to take a pic. Waste not want not, so sharing because why not?

When one starts skimming their feed while distracted and their brain selectively latches on to "The tank I normally house is nowhere near tall enough for breeding..."...at that point this photo suddenly had a reason to be shared.

Photograph of a small model tank in a home that is nowhere near tall enough for breeding... The tank centered in the image, 90s carpet and even most of the walls are shades of blah beige. At the left of the image, part of an interior wooden French door can be seen. In the wall behind the tank is the bottom of a sort of secret door that blends in with the wall except for the tell tale faux gold knob and hinges. Center top appears to be openings in a wall that lead to places not blah beige bur still brownish. A black wrought iron railing prevents the young tankling from falling directly to its doom, and instead gently guides it towards the steps it must conquer if it ever wishes to discover whatever is being hidden behind the rich red wood medallion decorated door seen at the base of the stairs in the upper right corner of the image. A daunting task, but the tank must be steadfast in its pursuit to be tall enough to breed one day.

The errant summoner, in glasses, is sitting on stage right with the book she was summoning from in front of her looking towards center where Diana Vallejo is kneeling as she faces the audience while holding her familiar, Jack, who just transformed back to his cat form after interrupting the summons in his human form. A stage light beams down on them both, obscuring the view of the standing audience. A few people's silhouettes can be seen standing in a balcony above. Many flashes appear to be going off, likely with cell phones, both in the balcony as well as the general audience area as people witnessed the transformation. The two of Jack's speech bubbles on either side of Diana and Jack read left to right, "I MEAN..." "...MEOW?"

The generic guaifenesin I've been shoveling down the past few days almost every four hours are like, "Hey, uncle! How's it going?"

Side rant: I am outraged that so many things marked w/ an X are now tainting my lost generation's status! I demand apologies for the fall of my representational letter.

Two angles of one of my current crop o' cats absolutely fascinated with what one of those big greenish larvae turned out to be back in 2019.

He was, much to my surprise, a ~very~ good boy and did not attack the flitty thing. (Bats, OTOH, He loves catching those in mid air when one gets inside.)

Backyard specific or overall habitat building/restoration/rewilding?

Covering challenges like county mosquito spray programs, light pollution, muni/HOA codes, natives vs invasives, etc.?

A luna moth dries its wings while clinging to a dull gray-green exterior shingle just left of center. The concrete foundation of the home is also seen in most of the right half of the image behind the shingle edge. The foundation has a sloppy dull red paint job over what appears to be a bright light green peeking out from where the painter missed the top edge of the foundation blocks.
