"The outline shader does whats on the tin. The cel-shader turns gradient shading into step based shading. They are typically both post process shaders."

From a Boston-area indie game dev slack I'm on:

"I don't know the Godot particular workflow, but these trees are essentially a blob shaped mesh for the foliage which has a outline shader and a cel-shading shader applied."
