Hegseth's defense: "I didn't know armed turtles would obey my orders."

It is not a service. It's a charade. Pro wrestling. it is not journalism. It is not edifying.

It is capture of the space-time infospace. It is control. It is a mountain of the 7 Mountains Mandate. It's why conservatives are buying media. They are capturing your senses, to make you dumber. /end

Ask youself this: How could someone sit across from Jennings every night, stomach his line of BS, and feel like you were spending your life well? The answer is 1) the money; 2) you see it as an unserious game; 3) You convince yourself that by moderating the debate you are doing a service.

But the model of pundit panels and news analysis has already lost the battle. Because the panels are REACTING to a narrative that has already been served up, usually by the White House or one of its spokespeople. Panels are not debating reality, but the reality they have been fed.

But news analysis has replaced news gathering. And news gathering has devolved into stenography and being insulted by Trump, especially if you're a woman, and certainly if you are a woman of color.

It's clean and easy to have Scott Jennings pitted against the liberal of the week on CNN. They know what to expect from both sides and know that the conflict generates clicks and reposts. Outrage sells and they work both sides. It's cheaper than real reporting.

Why don't they do this? 1) They think people have the attention span of a gnat; 2) The purpose of a network like Fox is not to inform, it is to indoctrinate more members for the cult. They know the more informed you are, the less control they have; 3) It's harder. It's real journalism.

Imagine these conversations on gun control, addiction, infrastructure, healthcare. Remove the owned class of politicians and pundits and listen to real people whose lives are affected.

No spin, just questions and answers from people who aren't trying to con you into a position in alignment with their corporate donors. People would be better informed than whatever "this" is, and would be less surprised if and when the AI bubble bursts.

But imagine instead you had real AI experts like Gary Marcus, or Geoffrey Hinton, who could explain the technology and its limitations. Or workers who were displaced (or who weren't because they incorporated AI into their workflow).

Yes, it's amusing to see Dave McCormick shill for tech bros about technology that he cannot possibly fathom, and about whose limitations he is blind. AI might as well be magic beans to him.

There's a good chance that Trump has already put a price tag on Taiwan and Xi is just haggling at this point.

If this stuff is allowed, then actual knowledge becomes meaningless, which I think is the point.

Noted AI expert Dave McCormick.

Habba is a first generation daughter of Iraqi immigrants. One has to wonder if her own story would be possible if her parents had immigrated during the administration she serves.

Troy Nehls announces retirement just as "twin brother" Trever Nehls announces his candidacy. But has anyone ever seen them in the same room together?

In a bold new strategy, Trump hopes to weaken the cartels by pardoning one of their most powerful competitors.

It’s a good thing that he has a sign to remind himself of who he is.

This is doomed to failure, since SCOTUS has given the executive branch almost unlimited immunity. Anything Biden did while in office is covered by that.
