Just saved a Gigabyte 486VS motherboard from Varta Battery damage. Needed to bridge a couple of traces and vias, but it looks to be working now. Just need to configure the jumpers.

That is what I wonder, vinegar syndrome could end up happening to all of them. I had a 145 that did develop it. But since this is working (for now), just today I maxed it out to 14MB of ram, a BlueSCSI with WiFi, and plan to rebuild the battery. I don't recommend this project to a beginner for sure.

As someone who recently put back together a PowerBook 160, I feel your pain. Would have been impossible without a 3D printer and JB weld. Now I just need to fix that dim line on the screen (which may have been caused by me when I replaced the caps).

Another Day, another piece of Software Preserved. I have this obscure Macintosh video card from Micro Conversions and the driver seemed to be missing. After a while of searching the wayback machine, I found what may be the only copy that existed. Now it's preserved!

I would say anyone that is into vintage computing should consider a 3D printer. Brittle plastics, especially for 90s Macs are a scourge. My drive sleds on my Performa 6400 were crumbling, and these PETG 3D Printed replacements worked great!

My man Joseph Prusa, the Gabe Newell of 3D printing just casually dropped this guy without much fanfair. This is probably the biggest announcement since the MK3. The temp controlled chamber is what I am exited about since I print ABS and Nylon so much. This is what Prusa needed to stay in the game.

Dell Dimension T series! When I was 5 or 6 I found a Windows 98 disk and somehow reinstalled Windows. Though I had no idea what drivers were lol. My dad was more impressed than angry 🤣.
