Totally. they have good overall. More last possession situations which I feel like have only been successful on swing for 3 (or OR put backs). Last night if Maxey hadn't tripped, he would have won the game in OT. last Regulation shot was dreadful. More interested than critical at this point

Maxey isn't a great iso scorer, not a perfect guy hold ball for last shot. Swinging for a three isn't always the best option especially in a tie or one point game. Skillset wise Jo or PG should be the main guys but aren't anymore. VJ is great but a rookie and a little reckless. Interesting situation

I agree. Also, the first game home after long road trip are often tough for teams. That paired with a team who you can't plan for and who you are expected to beat is mixture that's likely to cause a flat performance. One issue is the team hasn't really figured out who the closer should be.

Only makes sense to need to see more to decide. in very small size 77 possessions they are plus 36 with fantastic defensive and offense. TW gives you length, athleticism and can capitalize on stretched defenses both as driver, passer, bit more shooting. not saying he should replace DB.

I am a broken record on this, but I think Watford will give Embiid similar protection. maybe more offense and less defense assistance but still very helpful. It will be key to getting him back, so they have two options to play at 4 with Jo.

Other players have historically. struggled to score with Maxey and Embiid. Thats not necessarily a bad thing. but I think PG needs to get into a on ball flow to score well. PG and Maxey also are good tough shot makers, but with all that talent you should be able to generate easy shots.

I think in their minds Embiid and PG are fine for Maxey to be top guy. But they don‘t play in the way that would most benefit Maxey. and while Macey’s passing is improving, he’s still not an especially creative playmaker

All good points. I think the supporting cast matters more than you would think for those caliber or players. they can all play make but all prefer to iso. Maxey is the only one who moves constantly when off ball and he usually has the ball in his hands. need active players who can pass to join them.

There understandably is a lack of chemistry with PG, Maxey and Jo. Do you think it’s an issue of needing more reps or is there a problem with the fit? Do you think the 3 guard lineup works with Embiid? The numbers say lineups with Embiid and a true PF, Barlow or Watford have been outstanding.

he‘s moving like he’s in a 35 plus league. I also think he will put it together, but it doesn’t look good at the moment.

Yeah I don’t think Embiid on the perimeter in of its self is that bad. You can live with the jump shots they made over him. but you can’t live with zero rim protection/lack of DOB when he’s out there on an island.

The advantage of the three guard lineup is that it allows three players to initiate off the dribble, and multiple drive/kicks, and spreads the floor. If they are going to be stagnant with Embiid (don’t have to be!) there is no reason to have 3 guards on the floor. just put Barlow in the dunker.

They all want Maxey to be the top guy late and he has earned that position. However that does not mean that Maxey needs to shoot every possession. Last night Maxey taking a shot felt pre-determined. Part of being top guy is playmaking, the rest of the team needs to help him with movement

Embiid with Dom works great as does Embiid with Watford in very small sample size but I think it tracks from what we know. plus 36 in 77 possessions (obviously won’t be that good). I think Embiid needs interior, long athletic assistance.

Embiid had some struggles on defense but a lot of that was everyone else losing shape and failing to rebound.

Maxey is playing out of control. team lacks chemistry with this lineups which makes since with lack of time together but still shouldn’t be this brutal.
