Agree on all counts what society SHOULD do. However, the capital owning class will fight it tooth and nail the whole way. The new deal became reality when unrest had grown to a point where the threat of direct violence was imminent. I don’t expect today’s capitalists to be any wiser.

The overwhelming majority of people are staring down the barrel of long term, structural, unemployment. Their goal is to unemploy as many Americans as possible through offshoring, ai, and regular automation.

People need to become organized. Those in power may offer this concession if they become fearful of backlash. They can also take it back or erode it, like they have been trying to do with new deal era policy for decades.
The masses shouldn’t accept being at the mercy of a handful of rich people.

The Internet provides vital resources and community that some people do not want others to have.
The problem is, and always has been parent involvement. Depriving somebody of access will just result in a bunch of media illiterate people getting access to it at some point.

I’m sorry but we all watched the New York election. It’s blue no matter who until someone poses a threat to the status quo. At which point the leaders of the Democratic Party won’t even endorse, or half ass it alongside criticism, against a Republican and a sex pest spamming the “Muslim bad” button.

Its checks and balances are its downfall. Every branch is completely anti democratic for different reasons so the will of the majority rarely ever triumphs. America can’t even solve problems that every other OECD nation has because an extremely small minority of people make a buck off the problems.
