It would kinda defeat the purpose of a Primary if he just up and endorsed someone in that process. As chair of the DNC, he can’t pick any sides in that process because the primary is the thing that decides who the DNC and the DNC chair would support. This statement is probably the best he could do.

Look, I think what he is doing is great. This is what more democrats should do. But I would never support his ass in a primary unless he walks back the stuff he said about Trans people. Until he does that, I’m not comfortable with him being our nominee.
